Our Center

History

Mendota Mall Associates has owned the west 13.1 acres of the site since 1986.  Mendota Plaza was built in 1970.  The remaining 8.1 acres were purchased in 2005, providing Mendota Mall Associates full ownership of the proposed site.

Mendota Mall Associates is an entity of Paster Enterprises, LLC, a shopping center development and management company.  For over 60 years, family-owned Paster Enterprises has planned, built, leased, and managed attractive, successful shopping centers in the Twin Cities metropolitan area as well as in greater Minnesota.

We’re involved every step of the way – from planning a center that meets a neighborhood’s needs to helping it succeed and become an integral part in the community it serves.  We offer a full spectrum of services to help national, regional and local retailers thrive in our locations.

Current

The current Mendota Plaza has been a successful shopping center and consists of one existing building with approximately nine tenants.  There is an existing storm water pond located in the center of the property that accepts runoff from the site and discharges to the existing swale.  Access to the existing site is from a shared access from Dodd Road and a single access from South Plaza Drive.

Future

Paster Enterprises’ overall goal for this mixed use redevelopment is to create a quality, pedestrian friendly, complementary suburban campus that will benefit the residents of Mendota Heights with commercial services, office space and housing.

The 21.2 acre site will be a phased development, beginning with a restaurant building, retail building, Walgreens building, and the remodel of the existing retail building.  Future phases will include office/retail, child care, office building, and a three to four story senior housing facility.

The site will complement the adjoining retail, commercial, and residential uses through the use of quality architecture, dense landscaping, and the pedestrian friendly sidewalk system.  The storm water ponds and existing swale have been designed as a site feature, made accessible to the entire site through the proposed sidewalk system.  The ponds will showcase water fountains.  Near the water feature there will be a plaza gathering and sitting area with an overhead trellis, lighting, bike racks, and decorative benches.

The design for Mendota Plaza builds around the current site features, ponds and swale, and will disturb the natural geographical land as little as possible.  Thus, allowing for a pedestrian friendly, mixed use shopping center for the citizens of Mendota Heights and the surrounding area!
